Christian Boer is developing a typeface he hopes will help dyslexics overcome their inability to discern letters from one another.

Most people with the condition tend to mix letters—which are already very similar—up, and this is exacerbated by type designers who create fonts from an aesthetic point-of-view, according to Boer.

And so the font, called Dyslexie, features little quirks to combat this; for example, making the underside of certain letters more bold than others, or by lengthening the ascenders and descenders of others.
